MBSR is derived from insight meditation and healing movement practices. It teaches participants how to cultivate the capacity to pay attention on purpose in the present moment, without judgment. It is as much about switching 'off' as it is about switching 'on'.
Research shows that MBSR is highly effective for developing habits of high performance, decreasing the impact of stress, changing unhelpful habits, and managing pain and illness.
During this highly experiential course, participants develop a sound understanding of what mindfulness is, learn various mindfulness meditation practices and techniques, develop their capacity to pay attention on purpose, and, most importantly, learn how to use mindfulness to navigate the challenges of day-to-day modern life to make wiser choices.
The MBSR Program consists of eight weekly 2.5 hour sessions, plus an additional all-day session on the Sunday of the 6th week.
Mindfulness is a core skill for those who want to be as effective as they can be, in the time they have available.
There is a growing understanding of how powerful mindfulness can be in the workplace. Those who adopt a regular mindfulness practice become more effective and focused than their peers. Their decision-making is less emotional. Their capacity to remember and manipulate information is increased and they really hear what is being said when listening.
Research on the effectiveness of mindfulness continues to grow.
Imagine if one of your teams adopted a mindful approach to work. How amazing it could be.

Martine is a talented facilitator of self-reflective growth. Her workshop Rediscover Your Edge provides participants with the tools they need to understand their unique talents and audience, and identify their best career options. My experience at Rediscover Your Edge has helped me think critically and strategically about my opportunities in the job market and start designing plans for future business ventures. The workshop launched me into several months of self-reflective growth and as a result I have a better understanding of what kind of professional I want to be and how to get there.
Feeling stuck in my role and the organisation I had been in for some time was what brought me to seek out Martine and start working with her. I was going through a hard time with a difficult Manager and had reached a point where I felt insecure, lacked confidence in my skills and value, and felt stuck in being able to make any forward moving decisions.
Prior to Martine, I had been of the mindset that I needed to change aspects of myself in order to be more open to accepting the career path I was heading in. Since working with Martine, I have learned that the skills and interests I have are not only valuable but should be the very aspects of myself that should drive how I choose a career path rather than it being the other way around.
Martine is like a match maker between you and your actual self (in other words, who you think you are and who you actually are). She has the skills and tools to help you be able to draw on what your mental and emotional needs tell you in relation to your core strengths, values and how to capitalise on these in practical and constructive ways.
Our monthly newsletter will be delivered to your inbox filled with proven, practical suggestions on how you can increase your career satisfaction, impact with clients and colleagues, and build an enviable industry reputation.
