After so many years of not being able to go to sleep and stay asleep, I was really sceptical that Martine could help me. Initially there was a small change however with Martine's encouragement my sleep continued to improve and I managed to consistently sleep for 6 hours!

That said, I think it’s also important for you to know that everything I have learnt about sleep has been tried and tested on me. I started out thinking I was destined to endure broken nights of sleep after my second child. I was working full-time and struggling to hold it together. With a steely determination I set out to learn everything I could about sleep so I could get back to sleeping well again, naturally. And that’s how I know you can too. To understand what you need to do to sleep better, you have to first understand what sleep you are actually getting. A more traditional approach might encourage you to focus on the sleep hygiene factors, and then pick you up on your inconsistent application of them. This approach may leave you feeling embarrassed or lead you to give up trying.
But, the sleep research tells us that hygiene factors are only effective at improving sleep with children and youth. Adults benefit from a combined psychological, biological and environmental approach and this approach is more likely to be more effective in the long run than medication.

The framework I teach in How to Sleep Better for Adults starts with identifying key activities in your day and their relationship to your sleep. And while this does take an investment in time, it doesn’t require you to buy anything additional to what you already have. In fact it’s just recording what is already happening without any changes, you can make adjustments once those activities have been recorded.
And then, once you’ve got that down, I’ll show you what changes you can make to increase the likelihood of a better night’s sleep. And once again, there are no hidden costs. It just takes time.
It is only then that you’ll begin to see some improvements in your sleep experience, and by this point—you’ll have a sense of what’s working and what’s not. You know your body, and you will start to learn what support it needs for a better night’s sleep.
And from there, you just keep building.
