Take the guesswork out of your situation
When I work directly with clients I combine my corporate talent leadership experience, career coaching and therapy skills to develop a unique solution for your situation.
I know you're managing lots of different demands on your time and energy and you have limited resources to commit... and you need a solution that's going to blend in with them. That's how I work best!
Will this work for me and my situation?
When investing in yourself to overcome your challenge, it's important to find the right person with relevant experience that you can connect with...
Whether you have have seen someone before or you are looking to find someone for the first time, know that coaching, counselling and psychotherapy are all valid ways to transform your situation for the better.
I use proven processes to get you where you need to be, and because I have worked with hundreds of clients I can be flexible about how we get there.
I know how hard it can be to work towards a vision when you're distracted by external events or the foundations are precarious or lacking in depth, especially when you think you should have achieved more by now.
Now that doesn't mean you have to become someone else or that you have to lower your expectations for yourself.
You will accelerate your vision when you quieten your mind, leverage your strengths and develop a strategy of consistent action. Then it's about looking out for the right opportunities and executing well on them.
That’s why when we first work together, I’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding how you want to 'show up' in your world. From there, together we'll identify the strategies, behaviours and relationships to transform and build so you can realise your vision.
Setting you up for success, improved wellbeing and renewed hope for your future.
Not sure what approach you need?
Mentoring vs Coaching vs Counselling vs Psychotherapy
That's ok. It can be daunting recognising that you need external support and often a barrier to getting that support is not knowing which skills you need. All of these approaches use different conversational processes to uncover relevant information to effect change. What they have in common is the belief that the individual has the answer, and the answer is waiting to be uncovered. With my skillset I am able to work across the wellbeing continuum and adapt my approach to your situation and desired outcomes.
Wellbeing continuum and relevant approaches
Mentoring relationships are put in place when the person would benefit most from general advice and direction from a more senior or experienced person. Often the person providing the mentoring has a lived experience in the topic or situation.
Coaching is a discipline based on adult learning principles and uses a systemic, strengths-based approach to address specific identified developmental needs. These needs can include generating new insights, unlocking potential, a willingness to experiment and try new things, challenge existing thinking patterns, develop improved or new thinking patterns and identify and embed new desired behaviours.
Counselling uses a conversational approach to address and resolve specific problematic behaviours, beliefs, feelings and related physical symptoms. Counselling is most commonly used to navigate adjustments, life changes and to foster wellbeing.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative, holistic approach that focuses on the mental, emotional, relational or spiritual health of a person. It aims to reduce symptoms and address the causes of longstanding patterns, supporting improved functioning.
How often will I need a session?
That depends on your goals and your desired timeframe to resolve your challenge. Typically, I recommend to clients to have a session every 2 weeks to maintain momentum, although it is possible to have a weekly session or stretch out your sessions to once every 3 weeks or monthly. We can discuss how frequent you would like to come when we start working together.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals and where you are currently. As a guide, plan to have between 6-8 sessions. After an initial session it will be clearer how many sessions you will need. I encourage my clients to be active participants in their change process and as a result we keep the communication open with regards to progress and session frequency. Nothing is locked in.
What happens in a session?
Initial session (90 minutes)
First sessions are 90 minutes in length so that I can take a full history relevant to your situation, you can ask questions and provide any other information you think is relevant. Before the session is over, I will share potential ways we can achieve your goal together.
Ongoing sessions (60 minutes)
Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes long and how we use that time together can vary. You can bring questions or observations to discuss, or I can ask questions to prompt thought and discussion relevant to your goal and situation.BOOK A DISCOVERY CALL
